# 04 — The Crowd-Science Layer: How to Actually Test This

## Opening Claim

The Metaversalist thesis is **speculative**. The Anthrocybernetics side strips it down to three load-bearing principles. The physics side defines falsifiable tests on a 10–20 year timeline.

But there is a third path: **crowd-funded, distributed, instrumented science that does not wait for multi-decade institutional programs.**

This is the layer we are actually building.

The site at https://metaversaltemple.org is not a temple in the mystical sense — it is a *platform* for a particular kind of experiment.

## The Plain Problem

The strict tests of the neutrino substrate thesis — PTOLEMY, DUNE, Hyper-K, IceCube-Gen2, KM3NeT, JUNO — are real and will produce real data. But:

- they are expensive (billions of dollars, decades of timeline)
- they are not participatory (you can fund them; you cannot run them)
- they are not Metaversalist in sensibility (no one's building them to ask "is the universe a memory?")

So the question becomes: **what can a distributed group of practitioners measure that is real?**

---

## The Three-Tier Testing Program

### Tier 1 — Direct (Within Reach)

Things we can already measure with off-the-shelf sensors:

- **Solar neutrino detectors**: Hobby kits exist for cloud-chamber-style muon/neutino-adjacent detectors.
- **Coherence-time measurement in biological systems**: EEG, HRV, galvanic skin response — all probe coherence at the human scale.
- **Low-energy particle counters**: Cosmic ray detectors for ~$200.
- **Network-level relational entropy**: A cohort can measure information-flow rates in their own group over weeks and months.

### Tier 2 — Bridging (Build It Together)

Things we can design in 12–24 months:

- **Distributed greybody-factor measurement**: Sensor arrays that look for the predicted neutrino-gamma ratio at small black hole analogs in extreme terrestrial environments (deep mines, neutrino observatories).
- **Landauer-bound laboratory tests in social settings**: Replicating the Bérut experiment, but with humans making binary choices, and looking for the predicted thermodynamic signature in metabolic data (HRV, skin conductance).
- **Coherence-time software**: Tools that measure the half-life of relational patterns in real group data.
- **Crowd-funded PTOLEMY-adjacent projects**: Small-scale detector prototypes at the relevant energy scale ($1.16 \times 10^{-4}$ eV is too low for direct measurement, but adjacent frequency bands are accessible).

### Tier 3 — Long Arc (Decade-Scale)

Things that take 10+ years but are worth starting:

- **Direct CνB spectral line search**: Either piggyback on PTOLEMY data or fund a parallel mini-PTOLEMY.
- **Galactic-center neutrino-to-photon ratio**: Either piggyback on IceCube-Gen2 / KM3NeT or fund a southern-hemisphere supplementary array.
- **Neutrino decay anomaly searches**: Across supernova neutrino archives.
- **Cosmic-neutrino memory lattice**: A long-running, distributed memory experiment that *behaves as if* the CνB were a memory register — and looks for what falls out.

## The Metaversalist Stance

The Metaversalist stance toward this is:

**If the universe is a memory substrate, then distributed humans building a memory system together is *participating in* the substrate, not just observing it.**

That is not mysticism. That is a research program.

If the substrate is real, distributed group-memory experiments should show measurable coherence-time effects that single-participant experiments cannot.

If the substrate is not real, the experiments should still produce useful data — about social information flow, about thermodynamic limits on choice, about coherence in human networks.

Either way: **the science is real, and the cosmology is the reason it gets funded.**

## The Site as Living Document

https://metaversaltemple.org will be:
- a place to publish working papers
- a place to coordinate distributed experiments
- a place to keep a community log of measurements
- a place to read the cosmology that motivates the science

The temple is not a building. It is a *workflow*.

---

## What You Can Do Right Now

1. **Donate to neutrino science.** PTOLEMY, IceCube-Gen2, KM3NeT — these need funding.
2. **Run a coherence-time measurement.** Pick a relationship. Track how long its patterns persist.
3. **Build a relational entropy meter.** For your cohort, measure how predictable each relationship is over time.
4. **Write.** Publish your working papers on the temple site.
5. **Question.** The thesis is testable. The community should be the place where people try to break it.

---

## Closing Line

The temple is not a place we go to.
It is a practice we run.
The cosmic neutrino background is not a thing we are waiting to measure.
It is the field we are already inside.
