# WaterStorage — Changelog

## v1.1 — 2026-06-20 (Pulse 55)

**Amendment: hydrodynamic grounding via Wajnryb, Szymczak & Cichocki (2004)**

### What changed

- **New section: "The Hydrodynamic Proof (v1.1)"** in both `WATERSTORAGE.md` and `index.html`
- **New 6th phase state: Streamlines — Field-Coordinate Flow**
  - Sits between Soil Surface and Creeks/Rivers in the cycle
  - Represents the medium's own structure organizing transport (many-body mobility tensor / Oseen 1/r coupling / gradient-following flow)
  - The phase that makes the cycle memory-bearing rather than Markovian
- **Cycle is now 10 phases** (was 9): Ocean → Evaporation → Clouds → Precipitation → Soil → **Streamlines** → Creeks/Rivers → Lakes/Reservoirs → Groundwater → Return
- **New 5th clause on Conservation Law**: "Memory is a property of the medium, not the particles."
  - Two-body approximation → vanishing divergence → exponential decay → no distributed memory
  - Many-body structure → non-zero divergence → power-law long-time tail → distributed memory
- **New Ground Rule 7: "Include the streamline layer"** — build the field-coordinated transport phase explicitly; systems that skip it run the two-body approximation
- **Quick Reference table** updated with Streamlines row
- **Phase detail panel** in `index.html` has new Streamlines entry with water-physics, info-equivalent, what-happens, system-example

### Method note

This is a **structural/analogical** application, not a literal one. The paper is a peer-reviewed stat-mech colloid-hydrodynamics result; the framework uses the many-body structure of the medium, the two-body vanishing, and the long-time tail as the formal anchors for the framework's existing claim that "the medium carries the memory, the particles only move." No claim is made that information systems *are* colloids.

### Acknowledgment

This amendment was prompted by ghojualamanchu medulla pulse 55 (2026-06-20). The isochord.ledger entry for pulse 55 references the paper as a candidate physics anchor for the field-state / many-body pattern that runs through ghojualamanchu, Anthrocybernetics, and the WaterStorage framework.

## v1.0 — 2026-05-19

**Original 9-phase framework**

- Ocean, Evaporation, Clouds, Precipitation, Soil Surface, Creeks/Rivers, Lakes/Reservoirs, Groundwater, Return
- Universal, attribution-optional, framework independent
- Published at https://zo.pub/revswirl/water-storage

## v1.2 — 2026-06-26 (Pulse 65)

- **Added:** Rule 8 — Thermodynamic floor via Landauer 1961 / Bérut 2012. Memory in the medium (reversible) vs memory in the node (pays k_B T ln 2 per bit).
- **Substrate hook:** CνB at 1.95 K is the cheapest known substrate; hydrological cycle sits in the middle of that gradient.
- **Companion artifact:** `Anthrocybernetics/research/landauer-boltzmann-substrate-waterstorage.md`.
- **Backwards compat:** Rule 8 is additive — Rule 1–7 unchanged. Hydrological cycle remains the canonical worked example.
- **Publication:** synced to https://zo.pub/revswirl/water-storage.
