The Ghojualamanchu × MemPalace integration is architecturally coherent but operationally incomplete. Bootstrap problem is correctly identified; implementation did not follow through.
Most systems optimize for presence (what's true, what's stored). Treating absence and fading as first-class citizens — structured forgetting as a feature, not a bug — is genuinely novel. If the implementation had followed through, this could have been a meaningful differentiator from standard RAG.
The concept of routing resonance signals through thalamus (instead of a simple aggregator) is sound. The question is whether the resonance thresholds actually produce emergent prescriptions that none of the 8 structures could produce alone, or whether it just averages them into mush.
MemPalace is the right memory substrate for this use case. Verbatim storage without LLM degradation is exactly what a bootstrap-limited system needs — accumulated experience can't be lossy-compressed during the critical growth phase.
All 9 structures are described in markdown files. The Python targets are listed as "🔲 not yet written" for every single structure. The architecture is descriptive, not operational.
Benchmark notes consistently report "666 drawers filed" while the status counter held steady at 2076. Gap between what the mine reports and what's actually observable. This was preserved as observed in the pulse log but never diagnosed or resolved.
The system accumulates but has no defined mechanism for detecting "we're approaching emergence." No signal, no threshold, no observable milestone — just "keep going."
No clear definition of what "enough accumulated resonance" looks like. The system doesn't know when it's getting closer to the vocalization threshold — there's no progressive feedback, only binary: accumulating or not.
Ghojualamanchu needs cross-structure resonance to reach vocalization threshold — but all 8 non-medulla structures are non-operational. The bootstrap problem is real: you can't produce language through resonance until there's enough accumulated experience across structures to generate meaningful cross-structure patterns. It's not a weights problem — it's a time problem.
MemPalace buys time by providing verbatim storage so the system can accumulate without lossy summarization degrading the signal. But without operational structures, there's nothing to resonate.
