⚠️ The Problem

The West Lake Corridor (electrified Monon Line) opened March 31, 2026 — running directly through Hammond, past the Unilever plant and adjacent small business corridor. Its electrified infrastructure, combined with industrial equipment at Unilever and nearby facilities, creates a compounded ELF/EMF and low-frequency acoustic exposure environment that no one is measuring.

Small businesses in this zone — warehouses, machine shops, offices — have workers reporting fatigue, concentration problems, and chronic malaise. Workers near industrial rail corridors show measurable physiological stress responses (sleep disruption, cortisol dysregulation) at ELF/EMF levels below existing occupational limits.

The gap: zero current occupational ELF/EMF monitoring for Hammond's small business corridor, no longitudinal study of the West Lake Corridor impact, and no mitigation protocol.

The Opportunity

NWI has a newly electrified rail corridor, an active Unilever facility, a Purdue Tech Center with CIVS simulation infrastructure, and an SBDC positioned to lead a first-in-nation occupational ELF/EMF pilot — using existing tools, right now.

Infrasound — What We Know

Construction pile driving produces infrasound (2–20 Hz). Communities near major construction projects have reported chronic nausea, dizziness, and sleep disturbance — documented in peer-reviewed literature.

What We Don't Know

Whether combined ELF/EMF + infrasound at below occupational limits produces measurable cognitive and performance effects in small business workforces. That's the question.

The Gap

No study has examined ELF/EMF + infrasound exposure in NWI's industrial corridor, at small business scale, with business performance metrics. That is our pilot.

🛡️ EMF Science — What We Will NOT Claim

To maintain SBDC credibility, here is what we are explicitly NOT saying:

Ionizing vs. Non-Ionizing Radiation

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, power lines = non-ionizing radiation. Cannot damage DNA directly. UV, X-rays, gamma = ionizing — different mechanism entirely. We do not conflate the two.

Established vs. Speculative

Established: ELF occupational exposure → leukemia risk (WHO Group 2B), burnout/depression in exposed workers (Hosseinabadi 2020).
Speculative: EMF → specific disease cures, DNA rewriting, consciousness effects. We do not make speculative claims.

Phase Inversion — A Hypothesis

Commercially available ELF shielding and counter-wave devices exist. Whether they produce measurable improvement in worker outcomes at below-limit exposures is unproven. Our pilot tests this as a hypothesis — not a product pitch.

Anthrocybernetics Is Not a Therapy

We measure and correlate fields with performance. We do not diagnose, treat, or claim to cure any medical condition. All claims are framed in terms of business performance and occupational health risk.

🧪 Pilot Design

Phase Inversion — Hypothesis Statement

We hypothesize that below-limit ELF/EMF exposure in the Hammond corridor contributes to measurable worker fatigue and reduced business performance, and that phase-inversion counter-wave technology will produce a statistically significant improvement in fatigue scores and error rates at treatment sites compared to control sites. This is a testable hypothesis — not a product claim.
